Silent ovoid object over Annecy in 1979

Summary

In July 1979, several witnesses in Annecy watched a bright ovoid body hovering above a house for twenty minutes. Depending on the observer's position, the object appeared metallic or black, with an estimated diameter between 80 cm and 5 metres. After remaining stationary, it rose and moved away without making any noise. Authorities found no record of advertising flights or abnormal aerial activity in the area. The witnesses insisted the object did not resemble a balloon, although its description and movement bore some similarity to that hypothesis.
