On July 23, 1979, around 9:40 PM, a driver and her passengers in Saint-Lys (France) observed a luminous, orange-colored object for several minutes. They described a cylindrical shape, about two meters long, moving rapidly from southeast to northwest. At an altitude of around 200 meters, the object seemed to spin on itself before quickly disappearing over the horizon. Despite the clear description of the phenomenon, no other testimonies were collected, and there is a lack of additional data, making any conclusive analysis difficult.
