In 1952, French newspapers in West Africa and Morocco published reports of unidentified flying object sightings. A witness in Dakar described a flying saucer with blue and red flames, moving rapidly at low altitude. At the same time, police in Morocco reported seeing elongated objects with white light trails, and others observed luminous spheres that mysteriously disappeared. These accounts, though unverified, generated curiosity and debate in the region.
The sightings were concentrated in July 1952 and documented by local media. In Casablanca, over forty people reported seeing a luminous object near the city, while in other areas, objects were seen taking off from the ground with a clearly visible trajectory. Despite the lack of a clear explanation, the testimonies align on aspects such as speed, shape, and emitted light, suggesting a shared experience, though not confirmed.
