On 22 August 1979, two witnesses in Belvédère-Campomoro saw a stationary luminous dot about 100–150 metres above a golf course, which then drifted westward while dimming. One witness, looking through binoculars, claimed to make out two yellow parallelograms. No further testimonies emerged. Investigators consider it likely that the shapes were optical aberrations from low-quality binoculars and that the phenomenon was an aircraft illuminated by the sun.
