Orange disc with sudden acceleration in Yzeure

Summary

At 07:42 on 24 September 1979, a witness in Yzeure initially mistook what he saw for a jet contrail, but soon noticed an object hovering motionless for 10 to 15 seconds. Disc-shaped and orange, it suddenly shot away at high speed, turned intensely white and vanished. No other testimonies or records were obtained.

The description is clear, but the lack of secondary witnesses and supporting data makes classification difficult. The case joins the many brief, unconfirmed sightings in the GEIPAN database.
