Stationary metallic-grey sphere in Foucherans

Summary

At around 18:30 on a September day in 1979, a witness in Foucherans saw a luminous object appear on the horizon and drift slowly from south to north, resembling a commercial aircraft. When it stopped directly overhead, it revealed a very bright metallic-grey sphere. After roughly one minute it moved off in the opposite direction and vanished within seconds, all in complete silence. The testimony was submitted in October 2007, nearly three decades later, and its scarcity of detail does not allow hypotheses such as a turning aircraft or a wind-blown balloon to be confirmed or ruled out.
