UFOs sighted in Matanzas skies in 1993

In December 1993, several residents of Matanzas, including a father who heard his daughter shout "Daddy, look, fireworks!", observed unidentified flying objects in the sky. The main witness described a bright white ball followed by a luminous tail, similar to a comet, which aligned with other lights following a north-south trajectory. The objects remained visible for about 30 seconds, causing surprise among those who saw them.

The next day, it was confirmed that a group of meteorologists had also observed the phenomenon from different areas of the city. Even a meteorologist with UFO research experience, Orestes Gribao, showed a 1913 photograph from the Toronto Observatory that depicted a similar scene. This coincidence generated interest in the study of extraterrestrial phenomena, suggesting that what was seen in Matanzas might not be an isolated event.
