🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In March 1980, a driver and his passenger observed a triangular object in the sky over the Loiret department. The witness described a dark shape with red and white blinking lights at its ends, which they estimated to be about 50 meters wide. The object started stationary, then slowly tilted and maintained a constant distance of 50 meters from both the ground and the car. After ascending, it turned to the right and disappeared quickly. During the 4 to 5 minutes of observation, with the windows closed, no unusual noise was heard.
This case, classified as "unexplained" by the GEIPAN, provided no further clues or additional testimonies. The detailed description of the object and its behavior, along with the absence of sound, make it a notable account. Despite efforts to find a conventional explanation, the phenomenon remains unresolved, adding another chapter to the long history of UFO sightings in France.
