🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the early morning of June 6, 1980, three officials on patrol in Versailles (Yvelines) spotted a strange object crossing the sky from west to east. The object had a rounded front, a pointed back, and glowed like a neon light, moving in a straight line at high speed. The observation lasted about 4 seconds before it disappeared over the horizon. No sound of movement or impact was heard, adding to the mystery of the event.
The case was classified as "C" by the GEIPAN, indicating no satisfactory explanation was found. Despite the clear description from the witnesses, no additional information was gathered about the incident. This kind of short, silent UFO sighting is common in declassified files and is often difficult to verify. The Versailles case remains an unresolved enigma.
