🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the night of August 6, 1980, three people in Neufchâtel en Bray observed an unusual luminous phenomenon in the sky. They saw two groups of three red lights, one of them blinking, moving together at low altitude and slow speed. A motor-like sound accompanied the phenomenon, adding to the mystery. Although the event lasted only two to five minutes, the witnesses gave consistent descriptions. However, there were no other testimonies or recordings that could help identify the cause of the phenomenon.
The GEIPAN investigation concluded that, although several aircraft were in the area at the time, no clear explanation was found for the event. The lack of additional information left the case unresolved, classified as "unexplained." Cases like this, where multiple witnesses report the same event but no physical or technical evidence is found, are common in the database of unidentified aerial phenomena. While it cannot be confirmed that an extraterrestrial craft was present, the Neufchâtel en Bray case remains an unresolved aerial mystery.
