In August 1980, several witnesses in Bagnères de Bigorre (France) observed a luminous phenomenon in the sky. It was described as a circular shape moving silently, emitting visible radiation. Although the sighting was brief, witnesses agreed on the absence of noise and the unusual nature of the object. Some lost sight of the phenomenon due to buildings blocking the view. The Pic du Midi observatory was contacted but recorded nothing unusual. It was suggested that this could have been an atmospheric entry of a natural object, though the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon was not ruled out.
