🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the early morning of September 1, 1980, gendarmes on patrol in Meylan (Isère) observed a luminous ball in the northeastern sky. The object, yellow in color, moved slowly for over an hour and a half, displaying changes in intensity. Weather conditions were ideal: clear sky, excellent visibility, and no moon. The witnesses also identified Venus as a reference point, as it was particularly visible at that time of year with a magnitude of -4.15. The description of the phenomenon and the observation conditions led the GEIPAN to classify the case as "A," indicating a report of interest.
