In September 1952, three forestry workers in Kirkenes, Norway, observed a mysterious object. The object, flat and round in shape, hovered motionless at about 500 meters altitude. It measured between 15 and 20 meters in diameter, which caught the attention of the witnesses. After a few minutes of observation, the object disappeared rapidly in a northwesterly direction. The workers confirmed that no one else was around and could not explain what they saw.
This case was reported in a local Norwegian newspaper and later reached the CIA as part of its efforts to gather information on unidentified objects. Although not officially evaluated, the testimony is consistent and detailed. The object's unusual description and behavior generated interest, but no conclusive explanation was reached. This document is an example of how the CIA followed UFO cases in the 1950s.
