In February 1992, the South Korean military recorded an unidentified object detected on radar moving at near the speed of sound. The object appeared south of the Shandong Peninsula in China and vanished suddenly without a trace. Eighteen fighter jets, a rescue helicopter, and a C-130 were launched, but nothing was found.
Officials suggested it could have been a "ghost" signal on radar, caused by overlapping air surveillance systems. Sometimes, even birds or plane crashes generate false readings. Despite searches, no physical evidence of the object was found, leaving the incident unresolved.
