An unidentified UFO was detected by radar near the Shandong Peninsula on February 11, 1992. The object, traveling at near the speed of sound, appeared on South Korean Air Force radar and then vanished without a trace. Despite sending 18 fighter jets, a rescue helicopter, and a C-130, nothing was found. Officials suspect it could have been a ghost signal caused by overlapping air surveillance systems.
The incident caused some alarm, as the object moved rapidly through the airspace and could not be visually identified. Although the possibility of it being a Phantom (a type of fighter jet) was considered, other explanations like radar interference or even a plane crash were also discussed. To date, no physical evidence has been recovered from the event, and the search continues without conclusive results.
