In April 1981, several witnesses in Saint-Quentin observed an unusual luminous phenomenon in the sky. They saw a bright red ball with sparks moving from east to west. The object changed shape and turned into a thread of light that suddenly disappeared. Although it lasted only a few seconds, the description matches the atmospheric entry of an object. This case, classified as category B by the GEIPAN, suggests a natural explanation, but remains interesting due to its clear visual description.
