On August 3, 1981, just after 10:45 PM, several people in Saint-Astier, in the Dordogne region, observed a luminous object moving in a zigzag pattern at high altitude. The object traveled from east to west at an impressive speed, displaying flashing white and red lights. Despite its speed and brightness, no noise was heard during the observation, which lasted less than five minutes. Witnesses were unable to identify the object, and due to the lack of concrete data, no clear explanation for the phenomenon was found. This case, classified as "C" by the GEIPAN, remains an unsolved mystery.
