In November 1981, several witnesses in the Savoie region observed a luminous ball followed by a multicolored trail. The object was moving at high speed from south to north and remained visible for between 15 and 30 seconds. The sky was clear, and one witness reported hearing a whistling sound. Although initially considered a UFO, researchers concluded it was likely a meteoroid entering Earth's atmosphere. This case was classified as "B" by the GEIPAN, meaning no conventional explanation was found, but it was not considered an unexplained phenomenon.
