UFO observed in La Ciotat in 1982

Summary

In April 1982, a motorist in La Ciotat observed a formation of at least six white glowing spheres arranged in a V shape. The phenomenon lasted about 15 seconds, without any sound, and disappeared suddenly. Although initially classified as an unexplained case, the GEIPAN re-examined it using new methods and data. The most plausible hypothesis points to a formation by the Patrouille de France, whose Alphajet aircraft used white lights on their noses. The match in formation, number of objects, and absence of sound supports this theory. Although there are no records of the Patrouille that day, their presence in the area the next day and the witness description are consistent with an aerial maneuver seen from a distance.
