In September 1983, four witnesses in Beauvezere observed an unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) above the mountain known as "La Femme Couchée." They saw intense white and red lights resembling flashes, with zigzag movements. The object quickly crossed a narrow valley and disappeared toward the Chalufy hill. Due to the short duration of the observation, the witnesses could not precisely describe the object's shape. The GEIPAN reviewed this case, initially classified as D, and updated it to B, suggesting it could be a civilian or military aircraft. The flashing lights and associated noise point to an aircraft, though its unusual behavior (speed and altitude) caused confusion. Although 1983 flight data couldn't be confirmed, current routes suggest such a flight was plausible. The investigation, though thorough, couldn't conclusively determine if it was a civilian or military aircraft.
