Summary

On March 24, 1984, five nuns in Gers, France, observed a UFO for 10 minutes. The object, oval-shaped, was bright and moved rapidly from left to right and upwards. Although the witnesses stopped observing, the object remained visible toward the east. This case, previously known as Saramon, was classified as "C" by GEIPAN due to a lack of corroboration. Despite the consistency of the testimonies and the detailed description, it was not possible to verify whether the phenomenon was an artificial device such as a skytracer. Investigators concluded that the issue was not with the visual perception, but with the interpretation of the observation through the witnesses' feelings (surprise, unfamiliar artificial device seen at night).

Weather conditions and the time of day matched typical use of light displays, but no records were found in discotheques from that era. Although the case showed similarities with a possible misinterpretation of an artificial device, the lack of external evidence kept it in the category of "low strangeness." The nuns were not questioned regarding their credibility, but the absence of proof prevented a definitive resolution. This case remains an example of how human perception can influence the interpretation of aerial phenomena.
