In November 1984, several witnesses in Saint-Denis les Bains observed a luminous object with a red tail over the coast. The phenomenon was described as a white ball the size of a soccer ball, with a bright red tail about two meters long. It moved slowly, in a straight line and without noise, at low altitude. Witnesses estimated it was visible for between 5 and 6 seconds. This case, classified as B by the GEIPAN, presents characteristics similar to an atmospheric entry, although it was not identified as a known meteorite.
