🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In September 1986, a couple in Ivry-sur-Seine observed a very bright ball moving rapidly from east to west. The ball, about the size of a pétanque ball, left reddish projections behind before suddenly disappearing. Although the observation lasted a few minutes, the GEIPAN classified it as a typical atmospheric entry, such as a meteor or rocket. This case was labeled as "B," indicating a plausible but not definitive explanation.
The witnesses described the event clearly, noting the color and trajectory of the object. Despite the unusual duration, the characteristics matched those of a celestial body entering Earth's atmosphere. These kinds of events, while surprising, are common in UFO databases and often have natural explanations.
