Summary

On October 6, 1988, several witnesses in Allier observed three blue lights slowly moving across the sky. The gendarmes were called and confirmed the phenomenon, which lasted until midnight. The initial investigation looked for an explanation in a helicopter, but it was ultimately discovered that it was a supermarket testing laser projectors for an advertising campaign.
