In February 1990, a young couple in Moselle observed an unusual object while driving. They saw a rugby ball-shaped object with three powerful white spotlights. The object, about 2.5 to 3 meters in diameter, was flying silently at low altitude. They followed it for about ten minutes before it disappeared at high speed. The investigation could not identify it as any known aircraft or natural phenomenon.
The case was classified as "D" by GEIPAN, indicating no satisfactory explanation was found. Despite the clear description and details provided by the witnesses, the object could not be linked to any known aircraft or natural phenomena. Cases like this, although unresolved, help researchers better understand unexplained aerial phenomena.
