Summary

In 1990, a farmer in Pleine-Fougères (France) discovered a circle of yellowed grass about 8 meters in diameter. The affected area was between 15 and 25 cm wide. This phenomenon was observed in two different fields, a few weeks apart. The SEPRA conducted an investigation and soil analyses were carried out by an agricultural school in Rennes. The results pointed to a fungal invasion responsible for a "witch's circle," a well-known natural phenomenon. Despite its large size, the case was classified as A, meaning it was explained.

The case was resolved scientifically, without the need to invoke extraterrestrial hypotheses. Researchers concluded it was a common biological phenomenon, although unusual in size. These types of circles, caused by fungi, are frequent in meadows and moist soils. The GEIPAN's A classification indicates the phenomenon was correctly identified and not considered a UFO case.
