In July 1990, a teenager and her brother in Villers-Saint-Genest observed a large, silent, black object near their home. While stargazing, they noticed a bright point approaching and a massive craft appearing before them. They heard voices and hid under a desk for hours, terrified. Though shaken, they could not clearly identify the object. Decades later, in 2005, the same person had a vivid dream in which she recalled boarding the craft and being surrounded by six beings. However, experts concluded that this second account was likely a false memory, constructed unconsciously due to stress and trauma from the first encounter.
The investigation suggested the first observation might have been real, albeit with limited details. In contrast, the 2005 account showed clear signs of a fabricated narrative, possibly influenced by altered memory after a traumatic event. The case was classified as non-exploitable due to the lack of precise information and the ambiguity of the testimonies. Still, it remains a fascinating example of how the human mind can reinterpret extraordinary events.
