Red and green light over a farm in 1990

Summary

On August 19, 1990, a farmer in Lassay-les-Châteaux observed a red and then a green stationary object in the sky. Frightened, he went back to his house. That same day and time, fireworks had been launched in the area, which could explain the observation. To test this hypothesis, the gendarmes returned to the farm the following year and repeated the fireworks display. However, the witness did not recognize the lights as the ones he had seen before, possibly because he already knew what to expect. Despite this, investigators favored the fireworks hypothesis as the most likely explanation.
