In November 1990, several witnesses in the Nantes region observed a dozen glowing balls moving at high speed. The phenomenon caused some alarm, but it was later discovered that they were laser beams installed by EDF to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Cordennais nuclear power plant. These laser lights were visible up to 40 kilometers away, explaining their mysterious appearance. The investigation confirmed that it was not an unexplained phenomenon, but an unexpected technological celebration.
Witnesses described bright, moving forms that seemed to have no conventional explanation. However, upon investigating the local context, it was found to coincide with an EDF commemorative event. This case is an example of how artificial events can be misinterpreted as UFO phenomena, highlighting the importance of thorough investigation.
