🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the night of July 24 to 25, 1993, three witnesses in Saint-Etienne de Lugdares observed a white luminous phenomenon spinning on itself with multiple bright points. The case was classified as "A" by the GEIPAN, indicating a worthy observation for study. Although initially unusual, the investigation quickly identified the source: a multifaceted spotlight from a nearby nightclub. The light, reflected on a low cloudy ceiling, created the illusion of a moving object. The explanation became clear after consulting the club's manager, who confirmed the use of the device. This case is an example of how natural and artificial phenomena can lead to surprising perceptions.
