In January 1994, an Air France Airbus reported a mysterious object while flying over Coulommiers. The captain and co-pilot described a dark disc that changed shape and suddenly disappeared. Although air traffic control reported no other flights in the area, a radar recorded an unidentified track that matched the sighting. Three years later, witnesses submitted an official report to the SEPRA. Investigators doubted the link between the object and the radar signature, but ruled out a plane due to the lack of matching data. In 2012, the possibility of a weather balloon was reviewed, but it had exploded an hour before the incident. No explanation was found, but the testimonies agree on an unusual observation. Two hypotheses were considered, but both are hard to confirm. Finally, the case was classified as D1, meaning an unexplained event with moderate consistency.
