In March 1994, a witness in Saint-Joseph, Reunion, alerted the authorities about a turquoise green light with a rapidly spinning red dot above the sea. The gendarmes patrolled for about an hour but failed to observe the phenomenon. That same night, students from a school were looking for Jupiter's rising but saw nothing unusual. On April 3, the phenomenon occurred again and was observed by several witnesses. Although no aircraft was identified, the characteristics suggest reflections caused by a laser.
