On October 28, 1994, in the late afternoon, witnesses in the Gard and Hérault departments observed a stationary luminous phenomenon in the sky. Some of them, equipped with cameras and zoom lenses, managed to see details of the object's shape, which appeared to be composed of distinct bright points. A less intense light was visible at the center. The object then split into two parts before disappearing at high speed, leaving the witnesses astonished. No photographs were taken and no further information was collected, keeping the case partially mysterious.
The GEIPAN classifies the case as level C, indicating a somewhat credible observation but with limited data. Despite the lack of photographic evidence, the detailed description by witnesses and the observation of a phenomenon that fragmented and vanished quickly add interest to this case. Like many others, this event has no clear explanation and remains another example of the unexplained phenomena that continue to intrigue researchers and UFO enthusiasts.
