Summary

In December 1994, in the French region of Côtes-d'Armor, several observations were initially classified as unexplained. However, after a new analysis by the GEIPAN, it was concluded that the observed phenomena were actually explainable. Witnesses reported lights in the sky over several days, with descriptions that initially seemed unusual. After reviewing the data with modern tools and accumulated experience, investigators identified three distinct phenomena: one related to a storm, another linked to the planet Venus, and a third with insufficient information for a precise classification.

The first phenomenon, observed on December 29, was attributed to a storm at sea, visible from the coast. Witnesses described flashes in the sky that coincided with the location and time of a real meteorological event. The following cases, observed on consecutive days, were linked to Venus, whose position in the sky at that time matched the witnesses' descriptions. Finally, two additional observations were considered insufficient for a conclusive evaluation, possibly confused with urban or vehicle lights in an emotionally charged context.
