Summary

A 1995 case in France was re-examined and reclassified by GEIPAN. A witness described a large, round object slowly spinning and making back-and-forth movements above a house and then a field. Although initially considered unexplained, later analysis pointed to a laser light system from a local nightclub, known as a "sky tracker." These devices project laser beams into the atmosphere, visible when there are airborne particles. A nightclub existed nearby, capable of using such technology in 1995.

The witness's description matched the behavior of a sky tracker: circular movement, back-and-forth motion, and no noise. Additionally, the observation occurred on a weekend night, when nightclubs are typically active. Although no exact atmospheric data from the time is available, the conditions were compatible with laser visibility. GEIPAN concluded the case was consistent with a known laser light phenomenon and reclassified it as category B, attributing it to an explained event.
