Summary

In March 1996, four witnesses on the island of Reunion observed a very bright point in the sky with a white trail that gave it the appearance of a "neon tube". The phenomenon was completely silent and lasted between 1 and 3 minutes. Although it appeared to be an unidentified flying object, researchers concluded it was likely a meteorite or a space debris entering the atmosphere. This kind of event, while unusual, can be explained by natural phenomena or space debris.

The description of the object and its behavior generated curiosity, but there were no signs of intelligent activity or unknown technology. The case was classified as "B" by the GEIPAN, indicating that it is not considered an unexplained phenomenon. However, the testimony of multiple witnesses and the unusual appearance of the object keep some mystery around the incident.
