In August 1996, a couple in the Aube region observed a circular luminous phenomenon moving slowly from right to left for about 45 minutes. Despite the duration and clarity of the observation, the investigators concluded that the phenomenon was not unexplained. The direction of the object matched that of a discotheque using a laser projector for advertising. The investigators determined that the phenomenon was likely the reflection of the laser on clouds, a natural explanation that fit the testimonies. This case, classified as "B" by GEIPAN, shows how the inexplicable often has a simple explanation.
