🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In February 1997, a resident of Vouziers (Ardennes, France) reported seeing a glowing sphere in the sky. The testimony reached the local gendarmerie after a newspaper published an article about the event. The witness, driving his van, described an object moving discontinuously from west to east, without making noise. However, the investigation found no other witnesses or additional information. Inconsistencies in the testimony, such as the date and the object's exact position, raised doubts. The GEIPAN reviewed the case using modern tools and concluded it could be the Mir space station, though discrepancies prevented a definitive identification. Ultimately, the case was classified as PAN C due to lack of reliable information.
