On the early morning of July 4, 1997, a sailor near Sables-d'Olonne observed a bright object descending rapidly from the sky, stabilizing briefly before vanishing in a couple of seconds. When he woke his sleeping crewmates, they witnessed a second object shaped like a yellow ochre diamond with lights at its corners, moving quickly through the clouds. The second object remained visible for 10 to 15 seconds before disappearing. Despite detailed descriptions, no conventional explanation was found for these events.
