Summary

On December 11, 1997, around 11 PM, military personnel observed silent light flashes in the Aube area of France. At the same time, brief power outages were recorded. These outages were confirmed by EDF due to an incident on the 33 kV line supplying the area. Given the simultaneous nature of the events, investigators concluded that the observed flashes likely occurred on the power line during the recorded incidents.
