🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On August 10, 1998, around midnight, several witnesses in the Grand Est region of France, including a train driver, observed a triangular object with two red lights and one very bright white light. The phenomenon caused some confusion, as one witness, after reading newspaper articles, thought it might have been a ULM that had passed near his home at the same time. Additionally, the passage of a Transall aircraft at low altitude was reported, suggesting the observed phenomenon could have been one of these conventional aircraft. Although other explanations were not ruled out, the coincidence of dates and descriptions suggests the phenomenon was correctly explained.
