🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In August 1998, at 1:30 AM, a witness in Honfleur (France) observed a luminous phenomenon lasting between one and two seconds. According to the report, the sky was illuminated with flashes of multiple colors covering the entire visible area. The witness's wife also saw it, but no other testimonies were recorded. The case was reported to the GEIPAN in 2013, fifteen years after the event. Due to the lack of precise details, such as the exact date of the observation, the GEIPAN could not investigate further. Although the phenomenon could resemble a flash from a meteorite entering the atmosphere, nothing can be confirmed. Due to the lack of information, the case was classified as C.
