In December 1998, a witness in Rosheim described a strange luminous shape in the sky resembling a "serpentine" made of red and white disks. The object moved silently and formed a kind of loop, catching the witness's attention for about a minute. Initially, the witness thought it could be a nightclub light, but later dismissed this idea after comparing it with laser photos. The testimony was submitted almost a month later in January 1999, with no other witnesses. The GEIPAN re-examined the case using modern tools and accumulated experience, concluding it was likely a phenomenon caused by nightclub lasers projected on low clouds. However, the lack of precise data such as angles or heights made a definitive confirmation difficult.
