In February 1999, several witnesses in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region observed luminous points in the sky that caught their attention. The objects, three to four times larger than a star, remained stationary for a while, generating curiosity among those who saw them. Although initially considered an unexplained phenomenon, it was later determined that the event was the conjunction of the planets Venus and Jupiter. This astronomical event, previously announced in the media, explained the presence of the luminous points. The case was classified as "A" by the GEIPAN, indicating that no clear explanation was found at first.
