On March 16, 1999, at 8 p.m., a witness in Millau (Aveyron) observed two aerial objects passing quickly through the sky. One was a small orange ball and the other a ball of flames. Both followed a straight trajectory, but one of them descended into the valley before ascending again. The phenomenon was completely silent and lasted only a few seconds. Investigators ruled out the possibility of atmospheric reentry, and the proximity of military installations did not help identify the origin of the objects. To date, the case remains unexplained.
