Malville 1999, fireball observation

Summary

On July 25, 1999, at 5:30 AM, two gendarmes on duty observed from their vehicle a fast-moving red and green fireball followed by a smoke trail. The phenomenon was so striking that several other witnesses reported it and the press covered the event. Although it was considered a possible meteorite or space debris re-entry, it was not officially confirmed.
