Summary

In January 2000, a driver in Broyes (France) was suddenly blinded by an extremely intense light entering his car through the sunroof. The engine and radio shut down abruptly, though the ignition remained on. After a few seconds, the phenomenon stopped and the vehicle returned to normal. Gendarmes arrived at the scene and found a clear, starry sky with visible air traffic, but no signs of unusual electrical or aerial activity. A similar case occurred in December 1999 in Sommesous, where a driver also experienced a sudden engine shutdown after a white flash. Although both cases are similar, the lack of physical evidence and the influence of pop culture, such as the TV series *X-Files*, make it difficult to determine if these were real phenomena or influenced testimonies. The investigation concluded that both cases lack sufficient reliable information to be considered unexplained.
