On June 22, 2001, around 9:30 PM, several witnesses in the Var region observed a very bright luminous point in the sky moving slowly toward the north-northwest. The object appeared to follow a clear and steady path without any unusual behavior. Due to its brightness and trajectory, researchers concluded that it was likely an astronomical observation, most probably the planet Mars. Although the description might sound intriguing, there were no signs of unexplained phenomena or unidentified activity. This case was classified as category B by the GEIPAN, indicating it was not considered an unexplained phenomenon.
