Summary

On December 3, 2002, two witnesses in Annecy observed two elongated bright points moving silently in a straight line for about five minutes. Initially, the observation raised curiosity as no noise or origin of the objects was identified. However, upon analyzing the data, it was determined that the points corresponded to the International Space Station (ISS) and the space shuttle STS113, which had uncoupled from the ISS the previous day. Both objects were in orbit and passed over the region at that time. The ground traces recorded between 17:55 and 18:05 confirmed the identification. The case was classified as "A", meaning a completely identified phenomenon.
