Dark sphere with spots in the French sky

In July 2007, several witnesses in Savigne-sur-Lathan (France) saw a dark sphere with bright irregular spots in the sky. The object, which had a protrusion at the front, moved in a straight line from west to southeast. The observation lasted about 30 seconds, with no noise or smoke detected. Although a balloon was suggested as a possible explanation, no hypothesis can be confirmed due to the time that has passed since the sighting.
